Barclays Center is home to the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets and the WNBA’s New York Liberty. The Long Island Nets are the fully owned and operated NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets and play their home games at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. NetsGC is the NBA 2K League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets.
The Brooklyn Nets were officially launched in April 2012. Prior to its relocation to Brooklyn, the team was called the New Jersey Nets. Starting in 1977, the Nets have reached the postseason 24 times, won four Atlantic Division titles and two Eastern Conference Championships, reaching the NBA Finals in 2002 and 2003. Prior to joining the NBA, the team was a member of the ABA and was called the New York Nets. They won two ABA championships in 1974 and 1976. The Brooklyn Nets practice at Hospital for Special Surgery Training Center in Brooklyn’s Industry City, which opened in February 2016.

The New York Liberty was founded on October 30, 1996 and is one of three original franchises remaining in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). The Liberty have made five WNBA Finals appearances in its 27-year history and won the 2023 WNBA Commissioner’s Cup Championship. Owned by Joe and Clara Tsai, owners of the Brooklyn Nets, the Liberty play its home games at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.

The Long Island Nets are the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets. The team started NBA G League play during the 2016-17 season and presently plays its home game at Nassau Coliseum on Long Island. The Nets have reached the postseason three times and won one Eastern Conference Championship, reaching the NBA G League Finals in 2019.

In 2016, BSE revitalized an industrial historic warehouse in Brooklyn’s Industry City to create a new state-of-the-art practice facility for the Brooklyn Nets: HSS Training Center. In 2018, the front office and business arm of BSE relocated its headquarters to the HSS Training Center.
